When it comes to technology, functionality and efficiency come down to portability.  Today’s busy exec – or mom on the go demands to have portable devices that can be utilized nearly anywhere.  Whether you are sitting on a bus, at your office or waiting in a car pool lane – you need your technological gadgets to work.  In order to work on the go – you must use power adapters.  Chances are you have numerous power adapters used for charging up technological devices lying all around the place.  But when it comes to your Toshiba laptop, it would be virtually useless without a Toshiba Power Adapter!

Many people, start noticing a year or so after they purchase a laptop that the battery life begins to get shorter and shorter.  For people who most often use their laptop without being plugged in, it may occur even sooner.  A laptops battery is at the top of its game so to speak when it is plugged in.  Eventually over time and with heavy use, the battery will not fully charge or hold its charge quite as long.  When battery power diminishes usability of the laptop as a whole can be sluggish.  This is just one reason it is so important to keep a power adapter on hand.

There are many different types of power adapters.  Your devices normally come with a brand specific power adapter or charger that is made specifically for your make and model.  Toshiba recommends that consumers ONLY utilize their Toshiba power adapters with their products because other products may not be compatible and can actually ruin the battery of your laptop.  Since batteries are not cheap, it is wise to stay brand specific when it comes to the power adapters that you choose.

Many of the power adapters on the market today come with dual functionality which allows you to charge and power up your device when you are at home or in your vehicle.  In order to get the most charge out of your battery, it is best to use your laptop (or other device) plugged in when at all possible.  This way, as you scurry about your life you can rely on backup battery power.  In other words, make a habit of plugging your technology equipment into power adapters whenever you are at home and whenever they are not in use.

Additionally, instead of allowing your laptop to go into sleep mode which still utilizes battery life, turn it off completely.  You should also make sure that you don’t keep hard drives, printers or other devices plugged into your computer when not in use, which can slowly but surely diminish your battery life.

Remember, the best choice is to choose power adapters that match the brand name of your product.  If you have a Toshiba laptop – then look online or in stores for Toshiba power adapters that are made for your unit.  Most replacement products will work for several different models, so just make sure your make and model numbers are on the packaging.  And, if you notice any changes in the performance of your equipment after changing power adapters – take it back to the store.  This way you won’t risk ruining your laptop or stressing the battery.
